MAY 3 CELEBRATION OF "SOKA GAKKAI DAY" AND "SOKA GAKKAI MOTHER'S DAY"

SGI Philippines held the May 3 Commemorative Gongyo Meeting to celebrate Soka Gakkai Day and Soka Gakkai Mother's Day at Manila International Peace Center. The significant event was live broadcast via YouTube. May 3 is a special day for members of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI) organization because it is the day to celebrate "Soka Gakkai Day" and "Soka Gakkai Mother's Day" which these days provide an opportunity for members to come together and express their appreciation for their mentor, 3rd Soka Gakkai president (1960) and SGI president Daisaku Ikeda, for his leadership and humanistic teachings in the SGI, as well as to honor the mothers who have dedicated their lives to raising their children in accordance with these teachings. The celebration includes activities such as giving thanks and honoring mothers, sharing stories about how SGI has impacted their lives, and engaging in meaningful conversations about how to bring peace and harmony into our world. Excerpts of the message sent by President Ikeda to the SGI Philippine members in celebrating May 3, "My mentor, Josei Toda, the second Soka Gakkai president, used to tell me that before anything else, he had to seek out one true comrade. Then others, one by one. That in itself would be creating the times. ..In this way, just like Toda Sensei encourages us, let us seek out one true comrade after another, and expand our kosen-rufu network of happiness and peace."
