The 6th Men’s Division National Exchange meeting took place on February 20-21, 2026, gathering 274 members from various regions across the Philippines. This two-day event was held at the Cagayan de Oro culture center, under the theme “Courage and Convictions: Strengthening our Shared Commitment to Kosen-rufu,” with the sub-theme “Shared Stories, Shared Struggle.”
This gathering provided a meaningful platform for deepening Buddhist practice, sharing personal experiences, and renewing commitment to the noble cause of kosen-rufu.
During the event, participants delved into the profound Buddhist concept of the “Oneness of Good and Evil,” understanding how the coexistence of good and evil within one’s life is the very ground from which true transformation emerges.
Exploring the spirit of the 1956 “Osaka Campaign,” which was led by Ikeda Sensei, as a model of courageous and joyful propagation. Members drew inspiration from its spirit of bold action and human-to-human connection in advancing shakubuku.
Reflecting on the writing of Nichiren Daishonin, “The Actions of the Votary of the Lotus Sutra,” the participants realized the importance of embodying the Daishonin’s spirit by taking courageous action for the sake of the Law and the hapiness of all people.
The sharing of personal stories and victory at the exchange meeting reinforced the sub-theme, affirming that shared experiences deepen bond and strengthen faith.
The MD members was also fortunate to received a video-recorded message of encouragement from General Director Hisako Alcantara. In her message, she expressed her appreciation to the MD and all who participated in the two-day event. She also encouraged the participants to engage in shakubuku, emphasizing the significance of the traditional February Campaign as a remarkable endeavor in the history of kosen-rufu.
The 6th Men’s Division National Exchange meeting was a resounding success, affirming the collective aspiration of the Men’s Division to serve as steadfast pillars of kosen-rufu. Drawing strength from the writings of Nichiren Daishonin and inspired by Ikeda Sensei’s courageous spirit and dedication to kosen-rufu during the Osaka Campaign, attendees departed the gathering with renewed faith, strengthened camaraderie, and commitment to propagate the Mystic Law. The meeting highlighted that courage and conviction, when grounded in shared practice and shared humanity, are the greatest forces for transforming society.
