On April 26, 2026, the Youth Division of SGI-Philippines successfully conducted a nationwide Earth Day activity themed, “Change Your Heart, Change the Planet, Every Action Matters.” The theme was inspired by Ikeda Sensei’s 2022 Peace Proposal, “Transforming Human History: The Light of Peace and Dignity,” which emphasizes the power of individual commitment and collective action in creating meaningful and lasting change in society.

Ikeda Sensei highlights that even the smallest actions—when rooted in sincere concern for others and the environment—can become powerful catalysts for change. When these actions are united collectively, they help foster a culture of sustainability, responsibility, and peace that transcends borders and generations.

Guided by this spirit, youth members from various areas across the country—Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao—participated in meaningful environmental initiatives that promoted sustainability, awareness, and community action.

The nationwide activities included coastal clean-up drives, community clean-up drives, mangrove and community planting activities, recycling initiatives, and the Lights-Off Campaign. These activities encouraged participants and guests to reflect on the importance of individual actions and their positive impact in protecting and preserving the environment.

In addition, the “Seeds of Hope and Action” Exhibit was held at the Manila International Peace Center and the Cagayan de Oro Culture Center, where members and guests deepened their understanding of environmental sustainability, human dignity, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A total of 451 youth members participated nationwide, demonstrating the strong determination of the youth to create positive change and contribute toward building a more peaceful and sustainable society. Through these collective efforts, the Youth Division strengthened its commitment to fostering hope, unity, and environmental responsibility while advancing the spirit of peace and value creation in everyday life.

Moving forward, the Youth Division remains committed to continuously initiating and supporting environmental activities that promote greater awareness, responsibility, and collective action among members and communities. Through these ongoing efforts, the youth aim to inspire more individuals to contribute toward creating a sustainable, compassionate, and peaceful future for all.
