WORLD YOUTH GENERAL MEETING
In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of March 16 Kosen-rufu Day, the World Youth General Meeting was held on March 11, 2018 at the Ikeda Auditorium at Soka University in Tokyo. This meeting was aired via live telecast not only throughout Japan, but also in several culture centers around the world.
In the Philippines, the live telecast was seen at the Philippine Culture Center in Quezon City, and was attended by more than 600 youth division members from Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.
Ikeda Sensei, in his message praised the youth division as the “hope-filled treasure of humanity” and declared that a peaceful world would be realized if we have this network of young Bodhisattvas of the Earth, striving in their mission to advance kosen-rufu. He further urged the youth to safeguard the Soka Gakkai, the “miracle of all miracles” in this world, no matter what may happen, based on the vow for worldwide kosen-rufu.
Youth division members around the world joined the gongyo and offered their prayers to the Gohonzon, with the conviction that as disciples of Ikeda Sensei, they would fulfill their great vow for kosen-rufu.
General Director Hisako Alcantara also encouraged the youth division: “Engraving the heart of Ikeda Sensei and making his heart your own by practicing Nichiren Daishonin’s teaching for oneself and for others, while seriously studying his writings, I hope you will fulfill the vows that you have made today and report your victories to Ikeda Sensei.”
